of your goal of 12

Try it. It’s a demo: nothing is saved.

How it works

Three steps. You do the first one once; the other two, every day.

  1. Choose your plan

Quit, or cut down gradually. Tell the app how many you usually smoke and it sets your goal.

  2. Tap I smoked one

One tap logs a cigarette, with 8 seconds to undo. Resisted the urge? That counts too.

  3. See your progress

Day count, streak, cigarettes avoided and money saved, from day one.

Preview of the app’s design. Sample data; not a screenshot.

One rough day doesn’t erase your progress.

The app tells you what happened and looks ahead, without judging you.

Your Day count never resets.

If you go over your goal, the app shows it in amber, never red.

Skip the app for a few days and those days don’t count against you or invent savings. When you’re back, fill in the last 7.

Your streak can start over; your best streak and your level stay.

What happens when you quit, according to the WHO, the CDC and the NHS.

The app shows you your next milestone and where it comes from. These are published averages; they can vary from person to person.

  1. 20 minutes

Your heart rate and blood pressure drop.

    Source: WHO
  2. 24 hours

Nicotine is no longer in your blood.

    Source: CDC
  3. 72 hours

Your airways relax, breathing gets easier, and your energy goes up.

    Source: NHS
  4. 1 year

Your risk of coronary heart disease is about half that of a smoker.

Milestones count from your last cigarette. If you’re cutting down, the app shows them as what’s ahead once you reach zero.

CigCount is not a medical device and doesn’t replace advice from a health professional. Milestones are averages published by the WHO, the CDC, and the NHS, and can vary from person to person. If you need help to quit smoking, talk to your doctor or your local quitline.

Your data stays on your phone.

CigCount has no accounts and doesn’t keep your log on any server. Only two things leave your phone: what Premium needs, which goes through RevenueCat with a random identifier that the service itself creates, and error reports, which go to a MikeTech server, are designed not to include your name or your smoking log, and can be turned off in Settings. No ads, no third-party analytics.

This page uses no cookies or analytics. If you leave your email, we only use it for the launch notice, to tell you about important changes and, if you ask for them, for news. To block spam, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile.

What exactly leaves your phone

  • Stays on your phoneYour log

Cigarettes, goals, plan, streak, savings and your name. If iCloud or Google backup is on, it travels in your own backup; MikeTech never receives it.

  • Goes to RevenueCatPremium and purchases

To know whether you have Premium and show your store’s prices, with a random identifier created by RevenueCat. Apple or Google handles payments.

  • Leaves unless you turn it offError reports

They go to MikeTech’s own server, are designed not to include your name or your smoking log, and are deleted after 90 days. You can turn them off in Settings.

Frequently asked questions

When is it coming out?

We’re finishing the first version. We won’t give a date until the App Store and Google Play approve it; leave your email and we’ll tell you that day.

Is it free?

Yes. The free plan includes logging, your plan, your streak, your savings and the last 30 days. Premium is optional.

Do I need an account?

No. Your data is stored on your phone.

Does it work if I don’t want to quit all at once?

Yes. Choose to cut down gradually: how many cigarettes or what percentage to drop, and how often. The app works out your goal for each day and shows an estimated smoke-free date.

Is it a medical treatment?

No. It’s a tool that keeps you company. If you need help to quit, talk to your doctor or your local quitline.

Which phones and languages?

iPhone with iOS 16.4 or later and Android 7.0 or later, in English and Spanish.
